Formerly known as Luana Hills, Royal Hawaiian is located on the east side of Oahu at the base of the Ko'olau Mountain Range with colossal Mt. Olomana its background. The course is carved through a tropical rain forest and is known for its breathtaking views throughout.
Royal Hawaiian Golf Course can best be described as playing golf in Jurassic Park without the dinosaurs! The astounding scenery begins right away with a 1.5 mile drive through a magnificent rain forest to get to the clubhouse. When you finally arrive there is no doubt that you will be amazed that a golf course could be built in such paradise.
The Pete and Perry Dye designed layout has contrasting nines, with a front side that features a rugged mountainous terrain and a open rolling terrain back nine. With a slope of 138 from the back tees and a distance of about 6600 yards, this demanding track is certainly an interesting mix of beauty and challenge. Royal Hawaiian should definitely be on everyone's bucket list!
