The Makai Golf Course in Princeville re-opened in January 2010 after a multi-million dollar renovation that reconfigured two 9 hole courses into one beautiful 18 hole course. Improvements include newly reshaped bunkers, two large practice tees and a expanded practice putting green, not to mention all of tee boxes replaced with Seashore Paspalum, a drought resistant grass that is so smooth it feels as if you're putting on carpet.
One of the 7223 yard par 72 Makai Course’s signature holes include the challenging Par 3 third, where the tee is about 100 feet above a protected green. Other recognized holes include 7, 13 and 18, where there is an abundance of scenic views of towering mountains, Bali Hai and world-famous Hanalei Bay. Just looking down at the breaking surf below the cliffs will be sure to provide you with an experience you’ll never forget.
Additional non golf course related features of Makai is a newly built, award-winning golf shop which possesses clubs, clothing items and more. The clubhouse also has a large lanai area where the Makai Grill is located, a perfect spot to relax after an enjoyable day of golf.
