Located approximately 35 minutes from Waikiki, Hawaii Prince features 27 holes designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay.
The three nine-hole layouts — A, B and C — provide several different 18-hole combinations.

The Ted Robinson-designed course is located inside the Ko Olina Resort on Oahu's west side.

Uber & Lyft to Oahu Golf Courses
Uber and Lyft can also be practical for golf from Waikiki.
This is especially useful for courses that are reasonably close to Honolulu.
Courses such as Hawaii Kai, Pearl at Kalauao, Royal Hawaiian, Waikele and Royal Kunia may make more sense by rideshare than renting a vehicle for an entire vacation.
Before booking, open the Uber or Lyft app and check the approximate fare from your Waikiki hotel to the golf course.
Remember that the fare you see today may not be the fare available on the day you play.
Prices and vehicle availability can change based on traffic, demand and time of day.
Which Courses Are Most Practical by Uber or Lyft?
If you're starting in Waikiki, these are some of the courses we would consider first:
Pearl at Kalauao
Approximately 20–25 minutes from Waikiki in normal traffic.
Pearl is relatively close to Honolulu and can be a good combination of convenience and value.
Hawaii Kai Golf Course
Approximately 25 minutes from Waikiki in normal traffic.
Hawaii Kai is east of Waikiki and is one of the more convenient full-length golf options for Honolulu visitors.
Waikele Country Club
Approximately 30 minutes from Waikiki in normal traffic.
Waikele is another popular visitor course and can be practical by rideshare for golfers who don't want to rent a car.
Royal Kunia Country Club
Approximately 30 minutes from Waikiki in normal traffic.
Royal Kunia offers excellent views and can provide very good visitor and afternoon value.
Royal Hawaiian Golf Club
Approximately 35 minutes from Waikiki in normal traffic.
If scenery is your priority, Royal Hawaiian is one of Oahu's most unusual courses.
Think Jurassic Park without the dinosaurs.
One Warning About Rideshare After Golf
Getting an Uber or Lyft to a golf course from Waikiki is generally the easier half of the trip.
Your return trip deserves more planning.
Some golf courses are farther away from the main Honolulu rideshare area, and a driver may not always be sitting nearby when you finish.
If you're playing farther west or on the North Shore, allow additional time and consider scheduling your return ride in advance when possible.
Don't finish your round and assume there will automatically be a car waiting outside the clubhouse.
Charley's Taxi
Another option is Charley's Taxi, a long-established Honolulu taxi company.
A taxi can make sense if you prefer to arrange a pickup directly rather than depend on rideshare availability.
For golf, we recommend booking ahead and clearly telling the dispatcher:
- How many passengers you have
- How many golf bags you have
- Your golf course
- Your tee time
- Your estimated return time
This is especially important if several golfers are traveling together because you may need a larger vehicle for passengers and golf bags.
What About Turo?
If you don't want a traditional rental car for your entire Waikiki vacation but want complete freedom on your golf day, Turo is another option.
You can potentially arrange a vehicle for the day, drive yourself to golf and use the rest of the day to explore Oahu.
This can make particular sense if you're planning to play farther from Waikiki or want to combine golf with sightseeing.
For example, you could play golf in West Oahu and spend additional time around Ko Olina, or play on the North Shore and explore that part of the island afterward.
Compare the total cost of the vehicle, parking and fuel against a taxi, rideshare or Hawaii Tee Times transportation package before deciding.
What If You Have Golf Clubs?
Golf bags change the transportation equation.
If you're using Uber or Lyft, make sure the vehicle has enough cargo space for your clubs.
One golfer with one golf bag may fit easily into many vehicles.
Three or four golfers with full-size golf bags may require an XL vehicle, SUV, van or taxi with adequate luggage space.
Do not assume four golfers and four golf travel bags will fit in a standard rideshare vehicle.
