Aloha Swing 2013 Hawaii

The Aloha Swing 2013 Every year, the PGA tour starts its season here in beautiful Hawaii. Next week any professional that won on the PGA in 2013 is entitled to play at the awe inspiring Kapalua Plantation course. The Hyundai Tournament of Champions starts Friday January 4 and concludes on Monday January 7. This year there are 30 golfers committed to play, including defending champion Steve Stricker. Kapalua under benign conditions can give up lots of birdies but if the trades start to blow over 20 miles/hour, this can change everything. It's always great to watch the players finish up on the 663 yard par 5 18th hole. The following week, the pros fly over to Oahu for the annual Sony open at Waialae. This is a drastic change from all the elevation changes from Kapalua. Also, it's the first full field event of the 2013 PGA season. There will be 144 players teeing it up January 10-13, 2013 including 2012 winner Johnston Wagner. Waialae is known for its fast and true greens. The beautiful course is location only 10 minutes from Waikiki, there will be free trolleys taking fans daily from Waikiki. The final tournament in January takes place on the Big Island of Hawaii, where the Champion Tour start their season. Every year the Champions open their season at Hualalai from January 18-20 2013. Last year Dan Forsman's score of 201 was 2 strokes better than Jay Don Blake. It should be another great tournament this January, it's one of the tours favorite spots to play. The Jack Nicklaus designed course will once again be in great condition for the Mitsubishi Electric. Our staff will be tweeting from the Sony in a few weeks. Aloha and enjoy the season!
