Maui Nui Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-71 championship golf course located in Kihei on the beautiful island of Maui, Hawaii. Designed by golf course architect Bill Newis, the course opened in 1987 and measures 6,801 yards from the championship tees.
Formerly known as Silversword Golf Course and later Elleair Maui Golf Club, Maui Nui has developed a reputation as one of Maui's best-value public golf experiences.
Situated in sunny South Maui, the course offers spectacular panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, Molokini Crater, majestic Haleakala, the West Maui Mountains, and the Auau Channel.
Maui Nui combines a welcoming design with a rewarding championship golf challenge. Its generously sized fairways, strategically positioned bunkers, water features, and varied green complexes make the course enjoyable for both recreational and experienced golfers.
The golf course has undergone improvements over the years, including wider fairways, redesigned and enlarged greens, and upgraded hybrid Bermuda turfgrasses.
Maui's prevailing trade winds play an important role in the course's design. Golfers who focus on accuracy, smart club selection, and thoughtful course management are rewarded throughout their round.
The opening hole provides an inviting introduction to the course, featuring a distinctive black-sand bunker inspired by the Hawaiian honu, or sea turtle.
The scenic par-4 sixth features a water hazard and Pacific Ocean views, while the par-4 11th offers a beautiful backdrop of the West Maui Mountains and Maalaea Bay.
The memorable finishing par-5 18th is a downhill, dogleg-left hole offering sweeping views of the Auau Channel, Molokini, and the surrounding coastline.
Maui Nui also features a lighted Toptracer driving range, putting and short-game practice areas, golf instruction, a golf shop, and on-site dining.
