Mauna Lani South

Mauna Lani South

18 holes, par 72, 6938 yards. All prices per person and include golf cart rental, range balls and bottled water.

Mauna Lani’s South Course is home to Hole #15, one of the most photographed over-the-water golf course holes in the world. Renowned as the former home to the annual Senior Skins Game from 1990 - 2000, the course snakes through the stark, rugged a'a lava of the prehistoric Kaniku lava flow. The challenging South Course offers golfers panoramic views of both rugged mountains as well as calming, beautiful ocean.
The South Courses fairways are composed of Bermuda grass which are lined by the natural rough along with pahoehoe and a'a lava rock, which causes quite demanding holes. Signature holes on the South Course that play beside the ocean are the 7th, 13th, 16th and of course the famous 15th.
During the winter months golfers can enjoy watching humpback whales migrating offshore merely yards from these holes. Most of the greens are flat, yet sometimes difficult in determining the speed as there are many subtle breaks which can be hard to spot with the naked eye. Take it from us, playing Mauna Lani South is a must for any golfer visiting the Big Island!
